Cate Vallone
Cate opened Evolution Pilates in 2002, with the mission
of creating an education center for clients and
fitness professionals to train in the Pilates Method. She graduated
from Boston University in 1999 with a Bachelor of
Science degree in Human Movement Education, and became
an NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer later that year. Cate
has been teaching Pilates and somatic education in
clinical and studio settings for 15 years, specializing
in post-rehabilitation and athletic conditioning. She
has been an Instructor Trainer representing Merrithew
Health and Fitness since 2005, practicing Total Barre,
ZEN•GA mindful movement, and is a Lead IT for STOTT
PILATES®.
Cate is a self-proclaimed body nerd who is obsessed with
all things that move and shake. Her favorite topics to
study are fascia, scoliosis, the psoas, walking, and
feet. In addition to her Pilates education, Cate has
been trained in Craniosacral Therapy, Kinesiotaping, and
Continuum Movement, and continues to study the work of
Liz Koch (The Psoas Book) and Katy Bowman (Restorative
Exercise). Cate draws on her diverse education to
create a unique teaching style, but credits her success
to always being able to incorporate Star Wars or the
Muppets into her lessons in a way that really resonates
with her clients. |

Tracy Katzbek
Tracy is the Lead Instructor at the studio, and was
trained in the STOTT PILATES method here, through C2
Pilates. In March 2017,
Tracy started taking barre class at the studio and realized how much she
missed her roots in dance. In college she was on both
the dance and equestrian team, including showing
competitively for the Intercollegiate Horse Show
Association all 4 years of school. However, dance was
an integral part of Tracy's adolescence, teaching her
not only about movement as an expression of self but
also as a tool to manage her ADHD as well.
Tracy began her Pilates mat and reformer certification
training after reading in the newsletter that Evolution
Pilates was hiring. Since having kids, she wanted to
re-connect with her body and a foundation in Pilates
gave her the awareness within that she needed. Being
more aware of how she moved, she realized how much
hypermobility put her at risk in her athletic
activities, especially as a dancer. Additionally, she
felt a new sense of confidence in being truly embodied
with Pilates more than any other type of movement.
In
2021 Tracy underwent major pelvic surgery. Undergoing surgery and
the recovery that followed gave Tracy a new perspective
on teaching that has enhanced her interest in breathing
awareness and pelvic floor stability. She continues to
further her education in these areas so that she can
assist our clients and strengthen their own body
awareness. After recovering from surgery, Tracy decided
to further her interest in spiritual learning and in February 2023, she officially became a
Reiki Level 2 Practitioner.
"Teaching Pilates these past five years, two of which
COVID effected, I can say I have truly enjoyed our
clientele and positive studio environment. My hope is
that anyone walking through the door at Evolution
Pilates feels seen, heard and welcomed with big smiles
and positive vibes!" |

Fun Facts & Tips
1.
Pilates is a form of resistance training, which builds lean
muscle. The benefit? Your calorie burn can last for hours,
even after class has ended.
2. If you want to make
it easier for your instructor to check your alignment during
class, or if you want to take a peek yourself, wear clothing
with visible seams.
3. We don't just talk
because we like the sound of our voices. Instructors are
constantly giving you feedback that you can use to stay
focused in each moment and realign your body.
4. Joseph Hubertus
Pilates invented and promoted the Pilates method of physical
fitness.
